Publisher Go Live Checklist & FAQs

Request to Go Live Checklist

You must have the following in order to be approved for the implementation of TheoremReach:

  • A properly working app/website (for brand new apps and websites, further vetting is needed, please reach out to us at publishers@theoremreach.com to discuss)
  • GDPR/CCPA Compliant Privacy Policy
  • An active consent to the Privacy Policy and TOS on your sign up form
  • A clear point of contact for users to reach out on the Privacy Policy and TOS
  • Users are required to create an account to participate in surveys.
  • Implement a captcha on sign in or some other security measures for signup forms
  • An in-app currency for surveys to reward in and infrastructure to reward users.

Other recommendations, but not requirements include:

  • Additional fraud protection and user quality measures such as phone number verification or home address on account sign-up.

How long does it take for my Go Live Request to be approved?

Apps are reviewed manually before being set live to maintain a high quality publisher network and good user experiences.

Go Live Requests are responded to within 3-5 business days (often much faster).

Why does TheoremReach review every website/application?

We strive to maintain a high quality network so both our research partners and the end users are receiving the best experiences and quality possible.

We review each app for usability and compliance with international regulations. Each application must also have an active consent on sign in, a GDPR compliant privacy policy, and a terms of service. A high functioning and visually appealing website/app performs better and creates a better user experience, which in hand increases success for all parties involved.

What is an active consent?

An active consent is when you require a user to do some kind of action to agree to a privacy policy and/or terms of service. This is often done by having a checkbox that the user must click to accept. Listing it on the homepage or including it as part of the sign up button (i.e. “by clicking this sign up button you agree to the privacy policy”) isn’t enough unfortunately.

Per GDPR regulation, for users in Europe, and CCPA regulation in California, you must provide an “active consent mechanism” for users to accept your privacy policy. This is a good explanation of active consent mechanisms – https://www.privacypolicies.com/blog/examples-i-agree-checkboxes/

Integration FAQs

What is a reversal/reconciliation, and how do I know when one occurs?

We do not send reversals through our Reward Callback. If you want to be notified of both reversals and bans immediately we have an Event Webhook you can set up on your Publisher Dashboard. (Documentation: https://theoremreach.com/docs/reporting). You can also review your recent Reversals in your Exports.

Can you give me some additional information about the exchange rate field?

Reward callbacks only return in integers, and it rounds up by default, so for example, if your exchange rate is 10 Coins, that would mean that for every $1, 10 Coins are rewarded. 1 Coin = $0.10. Anything in the $0.01-$0.10 would reward 1 Coin to the user.

We recommend that the exchange rate is high enough to help with this rounding error. For example, with an exchange rate of 100 Coins, $1 = 100 Coins, 1 Coin = $0.01. This allows a much easier reward to the user in the integers returned.

If you plan on doing a percentage to yourself, you can adjust this rate, so using the above example of an exchange rate of 100 coins, and in your app ecosystem 100 coins = $1, and you wanted 30% you / 70% user, you would adjust the exchange to 70 Coins.

General Questions

What are the Payment Terms?

Payments are made on a Net 60 schedule, sent at the beginning of the month.

There is a minimum payment amount of $50; amounts below $50 roll over to the next month until the $50 minimum is reached.

Upcoming payment information is viewable in your Publisher Dashboard.

What happens if I have too many reversals or too many URL manipulations/fraud?

We will first send you a warning email when your numbers are getting high. If reversals continue to be problematic, your TheoremReach integration will be disabled. You can work with your Account Manager on preventing reversals and have your app reviewed for a one time reactivation.

How can I protect my website/app from fraud and fraudulent users?

There are multiple ways to increase security and prevent fraud on your app/website.

  • We recommend everyone install the Event Webhook to take immediate action on reversals and review bans. Documentation is at https://theoremreach.com/docs/reporting
  • Increase your traffic! Increasing good users while also removing bad ones helps reduce the impact reversals have on your overall implementation.
  • Be sure to have security measures in place on your sign in. We highly recommend adding a captcha or verification means such as a phone number or home address.
  • Delay payouts (i.e. only let users withdraw funds after a set amount of time of being users).
  • Implement some form of 3rd party fraud prevention against VPN usage, bot traffic, and questionable IP sources.
  • Verify a trusted user base and limit access to the TheoremReach service to only those users
  • Stricter user bans for multiple user IDs from the same IP and known VPN IPs.
  • Detect callback speed – are the same users completing surveys repeatedly less than one minute apart?
  • Implement IP tracking and monitor for switching while engaged in offers.
  • Review your traffic sources. How are users finding your site and can you verify or segment users from external sourcing partners you use to monitor for reversal rates?
  • Conduct manual reviews of user accounts and user behavior. Are you seeing any out of the ordinary trends?
  • Delay user rewards until that user is verified to be a good user. New users that earn a lot of content in a short period of time may be fraudulent.
